Hello!
I’m Zoë Wolters (she/her), the owner and founder of Ambigram Therapy. As a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) based in the Portland Metro Area, my mission is to empower individuals and their caregivers to lead their most fulfilling lives. I am dedicated to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive environments that foster personal growth and autonomy. My approach integrates play-based therapy, trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and quality of life-driven interventions.
Before pursuing my career in Speech and Language Pathology, I explored my passion for language and education in various ways. At Boston University, I majored in Linguistics and minored in Education, French, and Spanish. I then worked as an educational assistant, camp coordinator, and English teacher abroad in China and Spain. These experiences ignited my desire to further my education and career in this field.
I earned my Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2022. During my graduate studies, I gained valuable clinical experience with both pediatric and adult populations, working in diverse settings such as a graduate school clinic, Head Start, Denver Public Schools, and various elementary, middle, and outpatient hospital clinics. After graduating, I moved to Oregon and have since worked in a skilled nursing facility and a pediatric, community-based private practice.
I am particularly interested in working with both pediatric and adult clients. I am passionate about helping individuals discover or rediscover their voice, with a special focus on gender-affirming voice therapy, Parkinson’s Disease, and muscle tension dysphonia. I also enjoy addressing speech sound errors, dysarthric speech, and facilitating communication through Augmented and Alternative Communication (AAC). Supporting individuals with swallowing and self-feeding challenges is also incredibly rewarding for me.
When I take off my SLP hat for the day, I enjoy traveling, exploring the many quirks of Portland, crafting, paddleboarding, bouldering, and playing ultimate frisbee and disc golf. I also enjoy cooking and learning languages. I am conversational in French and Spanish and I am currently learning Korean, Swedish, and Mandarin.
